Secretary Report

 October 6, 2010 Club Meeting

   

   Meeting Minutes Archive

General Business:

Cliff Becker began the meeting and reviewed the previous club notes. A vote was taken and the old club notes were accepted by club members. 

Treasurer Report:

Brian reviewed expenses and income since the last meeting. A vote was taken and the Treasurers Report was accepted. 

Membership:

Bob Motta announced that membership for the club is full and that 25 people are awaiting admission. 

Field Review:

The Southbury field is in great shape as well as the Newtown field. 

Sound & Safety:

Gino mentioned that during the summer there were no injuries. Also he mentioned that we should all fly from our boxes at the field. There were also two head on crashes at the field so be careful in what you do. 

Old Business:

Cliff suggested that members come up with topics they would like discussed at future meetings. Also the new type member a “Guest Member” was defined as a prospective member on the waiting list who can fly with an existing member at the field. These prospective members must pay a $50 fee or they go back on the waiting list and cannot fly. 

New Business:

Cliff said that he wanted to thank Bob Blonsky for removing a group of trees at the Southbury field. 

Gino mentioned that we need to buy a new gas grill and members approved it. Cliff reviewed the new club calendar. 

Club dues must also be paid by December 1, 2010 or you are out of the club. 

There will also be no electric fly in at Pomperaug High School this year. Also the work parties went well as well as the kids day. 

Next month remember to bring in you unwanted radio control equipment to sell at the club Swap Meet. 

Cliff also mentioned that there are two broken chairs at the Southbury field that should be removed. Also remember if you bring something to the field take it with you when you leave. 

Cliff also past out a sheet covering details on club dues. 

Paul Ivy proposed an Open Fly day at the Newtown Field on October 30. Come one come all for a social and food gathering on October 30 and if it rains we will meet the next day October 31, 

Club Web Site:

Bob Ranaldo was asked about the activity we see on our website.  He didn't have the statistics available at the meeting but did some research after the meeting.  The average monthly activity has been running around 530 hits / month, with the Winter months seeing a many as 675 hits / month.  

The second most visited page is the Manufacturers' page with typically 50% to 70% of the visitors accessing that page. The next most popular pages are the photo albums and the Event Schedule.

Show and Tell:

Bob Motta reviewed a transmitter with LIPO Batteries and stressed that club members must be careful with LIPO batteries. Also Bob brought in an Electric fly F86 Sabre. Also Jerry Jarvis demonstrated an electric helicopter that he brought in. Great demonstations.
