General Business:

Call to order:  7:10 PM

Members Present:  26

Approval of Minutes:  Minutes were Approved

Treasurer Report:

Club is solvent all bills are paid.  We have a positive balance

Membership:

Presently 78 paid members Bob Motta read off names of those members he hasn’t heard from and asked membership present to reach out. 

Field Review:

FIELD MAINTENANCE PLAN:

To develop a realistic plan that would improve the field condition and better meet our 2016 budget restriction, we established the following three top priority items:

Eliminate the patchy and rough grass in the far right quarter of the field
Eliminate the grubs and resulting mole mounds
Improve the overall health of the entire field

Each one of these priorities would be addressed as follows.

Eliminate the patchy and rough grass in the far right quarter of the field
Rake and fill in low spots with fresh top soil, seed, fertilizer, roll with hand roller and cover with straw.
Material required  ~20 yards of top soil @ $25/yd plus $75 deliver.= $575**

Roll out existing mole mounds with hand roller
Treat entire field with GrubEx or Scotts Advanced Grub/Insect treatment

Improve the overall health of the entire field:

Rake,  reseed, fertilize and cover with straw all other bare spots
Overseed, lime and fertilize the entire field.
Aerate the entire field with club members tow behind lawn tractor aerator

Grand Total……..$1,445, which is a $900 reduction from the previous proposal

** Note….. To cover an area 50ft by 100ft with 1inch of top soil requires about 16 yards of material

A MOTION WAS MADE BY BOB BLONSKSECONDED BY RON FAANES TO PROCEED WITH THE FIELD MAINTENANCE PLAN PROPOSED BY BILL JOSGIER.  

THE COST WILL BE INCORPORATED INTO THE 2016-2017 BUDGETS.  THE MOTION WAS PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.

Sound & Safety:

No report Cliff Becker reported field is in good shape.

Be sure to check batteries after winter hibernation

Gas powered planes are required to have access to fire extinguisher

Correspondence:

There is a SWAP meet in in Lebanon PA March 12.   Bob Motta is going and asked if anyone was interested in going with him.

Wallingford swap meet cancelled again this year will reopen next year/

Old Business:

WRAMs Bus was filled.  Ken Blau turned final details to Bob Motta do to medical issues.  Bus collected $250 dollars which was turned over to the treasurer with the request that $150 go toward a picnic.

Fly RC has been asked to set up a program with Danbury Civil Air Patrol Cadets. Proposed dates are June 4 or 11. Fly RC will donate food.  

The event is being coordinated by Patrick Naplitano.  The CAP have a RTF T28  they will donate to FLY RC.

New Business:

Bob Motta discussed his new Fly Sky Radio

Cliff Becker presented and discussed his construction of a ¼ scale Corsair project.

Nino Desponti presented an excel program on balancing and determining C.G.

50/50: Won by Roger Hornecker who donated the proceeds to the club

A new section "Community Events" has been added to our web.  The first item added is the February 4, 2016 Flying demonstration Day at St. John the Evangelist School, Watertown, CT.

Nino Desponti's program on balancing and determining C.G has been added to our website in the "Members Projects" section.
