Secretary Report

 March 7, 2012 Club Meeting


   Meeting Minutes Archive


General Business:

Cliff Becker began the meeting and read the previous club notes. A motion and vote was taken to accept the previous club notes.

Treasurer Report:

Brian reviewed expenses and income since the last meeting. A vote was taken and the Treasurers Report was accepted. 


Bob Motta reviewed club membership and said that there are 98 paid members so far. Also there are no people on our waiting list and all members in the club have paid their membership. 

Field Review:

Cliff mentioned that the Southbury field is in great shape. The Newtown field is also in great shape. 

Sound & Safety:

Gino said that members should make sure they check their receiver batteries after the winter. 

Also mentioned was that President Obama signed a bill to allow the AMA to regulate itself.

Old Business:

Ken mentioned that the New Jersey RAM show went well with 47 people on the bus. Food was served and everyone seemed to have a good time. Great job!! 

Paul also did a great job on new badges for club members.

New Business:

Cliff mentioned that volunteers are needed for the work party to finish the road at Southbury. Cliff has gravel at his home that he will donate for use on the Southbury road. 

Again people are needed to help with repairs at the fields. A proposal was made to widen 1 pit area for large planes. 

Cliff mentioned that he flew while in Florida and South Carolina. 

New members were also introduced at the meeting.

Show and Tell:

Cliff brought in a wing for a twin Beechcraft he has been working on. It is covered with Rustoleum paint and MinWax Polyurethane. Ron Faanes brought in an a foam K& P

Skyraider which he bought at the recent RAM show. Also Rich brought in a Special Biplane with a G23 engine. Bob mentioned that if any members have any technical questions they can email members. 

Al Morris brought in a UH 1 Helicopter that has a gyro for stabilization. The price of the plane is about $430. Great planes!!
