Cliff mentioned that a way for members to access the Plymouth field lock box key will be investigated and presented at an upcoming meeting.
Opening the gate is difficult.
This is our last indoor meeting. May 17 is field clean-up day for the Southbury Field member help is requested.
Bob made a detail presentation on ways to improve the Southbury Field. The costs of different proposals would be from $4,500 to $8,000.
One proposal is to excavate the field approximately 7 inches. Asphalt would be laid on part of the field approximately 25 feet by 150 feet. The cost of this option would be approximately $14,000 or $75 to $100 per member. The advantage of this option is that we would need to invest the money only once.
Another option was Astro Turf which members considered too expensive.
A third proposal was to have a contractor redo the whole field. The field will be leveled, graded and new grass laid down. Any existing low areas would be filled in.
A vote was taken to expend $4,500 to bring up the low part of the Southbury Field and widen the narrow part of the field, roll and seed the field.
The membership in attendance overwhelmingly approved this proposal. The Club budget currently is $2,000 so each member will be assessed $25 to make up the additional amount needed to complete the project that was voted by the membership in attendance.
The $25 can be paid to Bob Motta, Cliff Becker or mailed to the club Post Box.
